my bitty bump is too bitty

Oh dear, I decided to knit this pattern called bitty bump as it was a quick knit that was supposed to take me 3 hours. I had visions of a blog post bragging about me finishing something in 3 hours and my super cute elodie modelling it. WRONG. Oh so wrong. It’s taken me almost a week, still isn’t finished and is like a tight shrug on my dear little elodie. Delicate little flower that she is.

So I will be finishing this and wrapping it up for a newborn who is still little. Unlike my elodie. The pattern is Bitty Bump and I bought the ebook as I just love that you can make baby garments from super chunky yarn like Malabrigo and the like in no time at all.  I used Bendigo Mystique. Thankfully the bitty bump pattern goes up to a size 4 and I might just have to try that size and hope it fits one of my girls.

  1. it is beautiful and will make a very special gift! great color choice :)

  2. glad someone else does things like that! I am quite possibly the world’s slowest knitter so I am thinking that one of my current UFOs will be outgrown before it is finished. I am trying to outsmart time and now only sew patterns a few sizes up for my girls in the hope that they will actually get to wear them by the time I finish them LOL

  3. Fantastic!!! so simple and so cute! waiting for the final result 😉

  4. It never takes me the time it says in the pattern to knit – at least double the time for me as I’m a very very slow knitter. Must say it looks like you have done a super job anyway x

  5. Oh what a shame… That colour and style would look gorgeous on Elodie! Will make a perfect handmade gift though… You will just have to try that size 4 one!? Any second attempt is always quicker in my books… Look forward to seeing it! Keera x

  6. How disappointing, but also lovely that someone dear to you will reap the benefit of your beautiful handywork. I know what it’s like having the big bubs and trying to squeeze them into delicate knitwear… Felix has a couple of midriff jumpers that were just never big enough to cover his ample belly ;o)
Love your new header by the way… Elodie is such a peach, gorgeous! xo

  7. I had ‘delicate’ little children as well LOL I always had to make their cloths at least a year or 2 ahead in size!
At least some luckt ‘little’ baby will get a chance to wear it :)

  8. Oh it reads that she grew too much in the 3 hours the pattern said it should take, tee hee, too funny. Bless your fabulous Miss Elodie, she’s just big & strong, like RetroDaddy, shame she’s going to miss out on this lovely knitted dress. Love Posie

  9. super nice work, I followed with pleasure you’d expect to discuss the loves of my blog ..
