Win a family pass to Cars 2

Sponsored by Nuffnang

A trip to the movies, sharing some popcorn and enjoying a choc top in front of the big screen makes for one happy afternoon. And so my Finn was in little boy heaven last week when we all headed out to a special advanced screening of Cars 2. So special that we had to hand in our mobile phones at the door in case we were going to take photos or videos of the movie.

If you like spy and action movies then you are going to love Disney-Pixar Cars 2. Think James Bond meets Cars and you have Cars 2. From the moment the movie starts there are thrills and spills and some huge action scenes. My little ones don’t sit down for long so all of them sitting through the movie is one big achievement in itself. But they love Disney movies. And so they all loved Disney-Pixar Cars 2 and especially Finn. He hasn’t stopped talking about it.

Disney-Pixar Cars 2 is based around an international grand prix so you travel around the world with the cars which was a lot of fun. Keira has decided she wants to go to Paris which I fully support while I was getting a bit nostalgic for Tokyo. My favourite scene in the whole movie has to be using the toilet in Japan. Hilarious. The animation for Tokyo and the countries is so realistic you need to remind yourselves that this is an animated movie!

The little ones favourite character was definitely Finn McMissile, secret agent. Me, I have a real soft spot for Mater. He steals the show with his total country bumpkin antics. And take Mater away from his sleepy town of Radiator Springs and put him in glamorous cities around the world and you have some very funny scenes. And travelling around the world also means lots of international characters to meet including an Aussie car. Yes! Meet Frosty……voiced by our very own Mark Winterbottom!
There are some cute messages for the little ones to take home like friendship, not judging a book by its cover, the environment and playing fair. And some humour for the big kids and adults too. In fact this is a very slick movie and storyline just as you would expect from Disney Pixar.

But not wanting to spoil the fun for you, my lips are sealed about what else happens in the movie. Cars 2 is in cinemas now and I know this will be a big hit in the school holidays, and that we’ll be taking Finn along again. Thanks to Disney and Nuffnang, I have 2 family passes to Cars 2 to giveaway. All you need to do is tell me your favourite Disney movie scene of all time. This giveaway is for my Australian residents only and full T&C can be found here.
p.s Just be warned that when you watch the movie trailers – your children will go nuts beside you and insist on watching it again and again meaning this blog post took me a long time to write.

Comments

  1. My fav Disney scene of all time is in Mary Poppins – oh how I adored that movie as a little girl! When Mary Poppins, Jane, Micheal & Bert jump into the chalk drawings into an imaginary world is just so so so lovely!!

  2. For me, Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourites. I love the part when they dance.

  3. I love the scene from Fantasia where Mickey (the Sorceror’s Apprentice) tries to use a magical shortcut and it all gets out of hand with the buckets and the mops.

  4. Finding Nemo, where Dory says that when all is lost you just have to keep on swimming.

  5. My favourite scene is actually in Cars toward the end when Lightening McQueen manages to make it to the finish line before Chick and The King, but after seeing The King being deliberately spun out of control by Chick, McQueen stops before the finish line, which allows Chick to win and take the Piston Cup.
McQueen reverses to help push The King the rest of the way across the finish line. I like that he helps Chick across the finish line. Still brings a tear to my eye and conveys a wonderful massage to children.

  6. What a fantastic review of the movie! I cannot wait to take my nephew! (Can I enter for my friend that lives in Australia? I think it would be a neat surprise if I won!)

My all time favorite movie is Mary Poppins and my very favorite part is when she’s putting the two little ones to sleep and singing them a song – such a sweet moment!

  7. The original Cars movie is on VERY high rotation in this house… even at the request of the adult inhabitants :)
The scene where Mater introduces himself to Lightning for the very first time – classic. Husband & I lose it to giggles every time *laughing now*

  8. I’m going to go old school and say that my fave Disney scene is from Dumbo. I cried so hard when the others were mean to Dumbo, but justice prevailed in the end, and my love affair with happy endings began!

  9. Fab!! Can’t wait to take all the crew to see it.

  10. I don’t know if this counts but I love the movie clip of Hayden Panettiere that is shown at the end of Cinderella III “I Still Believe” as my 3 1/2 year old just loves to sing along with it. So cute!!!! (it’s also played in the movie lol)

  12. I just love Monsters Inc – can’t get past that and little boo!

  13. The original Cars movie is the all time fave in this household… With 2 boys I don’t think I’ll be seeing many (if any) of the cute princess type ones!! But at least Cars is as entertaining for the grown ups as it is for the kids!!

  14. Groovy giveaway – just in time for school holidays in Victoria!!! Do I have to pick a favourite scene from a Disney movie – there are too many! For me, I cant go past Beauty and the Beast and their lovely waltz!

  15. We’re big Lilo and Stitch fans here – the scene where Stitch is brought back to life by Lilo’s tears in ‘Stitch has a Glitch’ is a fave :) Great competition, we’d love to go and see Cars 2!

  16. I love Snow White cleaning up the cottage with the animals – I need them right now!

  17. Arguably the best ever Disney movie is that wonderful, emotional, inspiring ‘Beauty and the Beast’. The ballroom scence and the death scene via for top spot, depending on whetehr you want the tissue box or the ‘aaawwwww’ moment. The jury is out….
    (fantastic comp, btw)

  18. My favourite Disney movie is Winnie the Pooh’s Heffalump. I love the moral behind the story – kindness, loyalty, friendship and courage. All things I *try* and instil in my children. My favourite scene of the movie is at the end when Pooh begs his mother to have more time to play with his friend Lumpy.

  19. Disney are great. I’m thinking back to when I was a little girl and Cinderella was a gorgeous movie for me! Who doesn’t like ending up with the prince!!

  20. The first Cars-movie when Mater takes Lightning out into the paddock to scare the tractors. My son and I have watched that scene at least 100 times and each time, he is in stitches!

  21. My favourite would be Cars 1 and the scene right at the end always makes me giggle-when Mater is in the helicopter and starts singing/teasing McQueen and Sally but can’t remember how to spell Kissing

  22. My fave scene is the Spanish dancing scene between Jessie and Buzz in Toy Story 3, It cracks the whole family up!

Cars 2 has been promised for these holidays and my kids can’t wait!

  23. I’d love to take poppy my 18 month old and adam my hubby to this. It would be our first cinema experience as a family how cool would that be. We just saw cars at home. Poppy thought the scene in the valley was great. I love the cow scene it’s so funny.

  24. My favourite has to be Fantasia!!

  25. Aladdin wins hands down!

  26. My favourite scene would have to be from Aristocats, when the mouse is trying to get help from the alley cats. Especially that great bit where the guy drinking wine sees the mouse chase all the cats & pours out the rest of his wine.

  27. So many good disney movies out there! The first movie that I ever saw on the big screen was bedknobs and broomsticks so I will always have a soft spot for it. Dancing in Portobello Rd.

  28. WOW! That IS an advanced screening, suppose they can never be too careful these days… but handing in your mobiles!?!?
We saw it yesterday. It’s fabulous isn’t it!? I do love the messages for the little ones AND the quips for the adults, seriously clever movie. Love the pic of your littlies, they are so gorgeous :o)

  29. I love UP, such a nice story of long lasting love. I always cry at the end.

  30. I’m having trouble picking a favourite movie so picking a favourite scene is impossible! I love the ending of any Disney movie. I’m a sucker for happy endings! :)

  31. We are revving up for Cars 2 big time at our place!

Fave Disney movie (actually it’s a Disney-Pixar, I think) would have to be Toy Story. Or maybe Nemo? No, Toy Story. Just the best movie ever. x

  32. I remember being amazed as Mary Poppins pulled one thing after another out of her bottomless bag. I think of her every time I am trying to find keys/phone/important thing lost in the bottom of mine.

  33. Oh I have so many favourite Disney movie moments. My favourite from when I was younger is definitely Mary Poppins – oh how I longed to be able to tidy up the house while singing!

  34. In Nemo, the escape scene from the Dentist’s aquarium plays with all my emotions…the aquarium itself reminds me of being a kid looking for magical underwater worlds in rockpools!

  35. I like it when Mac wants to stop driving and Lightning won’t let him then as they drive past the truck stop he says “sleeping trucks” I just find it very funny and when we go on road trips and want to stop we just say oh sleeping trucks.

  36. Lilo & Stitch – family means nobody gets left behind xoxo

  37. Mary poppins the scene with the penguins just magical.

  38. my favourite disney movie is Aladdin. robin williams makes that movie, a bit of humour for the adults never goes astray in a kids movie.

  39. My son’s favourite scene is the chase scene in Meet the Robinsons.

My favourite is the spaghetti dinner scene in Lady and the Tramp.

My son has really been looking forward to seeing Cars 2. He keeps asking his Gran when she is going to take him.
