my christmas haul

WARNING! FABRIC OVERLOAD!

Last year I had so much fabric in the store and so many invoices to pay that I hadn’t ordered any fabric for myself. Retro daddy would tell you that isn’t a bad thing. But for Christmas I went all out treating myself to some fat quarter packs for quilts and here is the haul….all bought from my favourite fabric store in the states.

my christmas haul

First up, Parisville by Tula Pink. I just love the colours in this one and think it would be perfect for a quilt in our bedroom. The colours aren’t too girly for retro daddy as we never (ever) seem to agree on the right bed set for our room and as a result stick to mostly white!

Soul Blossoms by Amy Butler. I love Amy Butler as she is the reason I got back into sewing in my 20’s back when I was working in the city. I was so inspired by her patterns and fabric and that was well before her product range expanded to include anything and everything.

She knows how to use colour and her fabric ranges always make bright and colourful quilts.

And since I’m a huuuuuge Darla fan, I couldn’t go past the latest Tanya Whelan range, Delilah. If you love shabby chic, roses with polka dots or all things pretty…..then this range has your name on it.

It had mine stamped all over and I bought a couple of extra yards for dresses for my girls.

But wait, there is still more (I did warn you I went overboard). I’ve wanted an accuquilt Go for some time now but they haven’t been cheap here in oz and I’ve put it off, because I’m such a good saver of course. But then I saw the Go Baby and knew I had to have one…..I got a great deal on ebay for a new one and now I’m just waiting for my cutting mat to arrive and I’ll put this baby to work!

merry christmas to me
And that is the lot. Thanks Corrie, you really spoiled me!

So if I don’t win your giveaway I think I will order some Delilah. Perfect for a girly quilt! How many fat quarters do I need for single bed quilt? Can someone help me? Thinking disappearing nine pattern…..?

  6. What a delicious selection..and that Go Baby looks very interesting! Happy days of sewing!

  7. Gotta treat yourself sometime!

  8. NICE haul!! You’ll have to post about the Baby because not too many people say much about it.

  9. Fantastic. Love all the fabrics and very interested to see how the Baby Go … goes. :-)

  10. Those fabrics are so pretty! I would love to know more about the Go Baby, I have seen something similar for cutting paper (I think?) but not fabric.

  13. I *love* the Delilah!
I bought some Soul Blossom for myself for Chrsitmas too. 😉 I was a little dissapointed in the fabric some of them were printed on though – not all the prints, just some of them.

  14. lovely fabrics – so many to choose from.

  15. Oh wow I love your choices! You lucky girl! I’ve got quite a lot of the Amy butler soul blossoms as yardage in my stash with the intention of making dresses/skirts for me or as gifts for family. I am also a huge amy butler fan. love the Tanya whelan, so gorgeous!
The fabric cutter looks great. I can see that once I pluck up the courage to try my hand at quilting that one of those go baby cutters could find its way to my house….

  16. Love it all Corrie. I also did a fabric order last night from the US of Delilah. It’s so pretty :)

    Enjoy all that lovely fabric!

  17. Your favourite fabric is too my favourite one, I spend hours oggling the fabric it seems (or at least my husband would say so).

I really want a Go Baby, but then I thought about the wasted fabric and didn’t like that, then I thought about that it would get me nearer to my nice big scrappy quilt I eventually want to make – so really it makes sense to buy one…perfect sense. xx

  18. I love the term “fat Quarter” it makes me giggle each and every time. I am no quilter (if you couldn’t guess already) but they are all FAB.

  19. Oh happy days ahead for you! I adore the Delilah and can’t wait to see what you create with it xx

  20. that fabric cutter looks amazing – I’ve never seen one before.
My hubby is like yours – I’m not allowed to put anything with flowers or anything even slightly, remotely girlie in our room – something about being over-run by women in the rest of the house… :-)

  21. WOW! Amazing :)

  22. Gosh, Corrie, that machine looks brilliant. I don’t sew but that would make me want to learn! Let us know how you go with it. Oh, and the last blue fabrics have me swooning. J x

  23. Delilah is so pretty – it’s on my wish list!

  24. i think i must somehow hate you.. ;-)) through your blog i took a look at the choice of fabrics that are shown on you fasv. fabric site.. and fell totally in love. Meaning that now i will have to become a patchworker too.. adding one more creative activity to those for which i have not enought ime already.. Thanks for posting anyhow ! it all so lovely and inspiring.

  25. Oh you lucky thing! Yum to all that!! Does the cutter do felt as well? Do you have to buy extra cutting sets for it??

  26. Corrie you really wwas a good girl last year! Santa was very generous :). Enjoy your sewing
