twin love

having twins is a very special blessing and something I never could have imagined would happen to us. But any mum of multiples will tell you  those early days are not all peaches and cream. It’s not like looking after two siblings close in age (as some people would like to tell you), you have 2 newborns, 2 little personalities, 2 hungry mouths, 2 cranky babies in the late afternoon and one set of hands.
cute and funny
I would love to show these photos to the new twin mummy I was back in august 2008, I would have stuck them on my fridge…………a way of saying look at how cute and happy they are and you’re doing a great job. This will all be worth it!
the funnies
Because I can now look at these photos and kind of forget how hard those early days were because they are just the cutest little playmates and entertain each other all day (and night) long!

Oh I love these two……….

  1. What a lovely post and beautiful photos of them….

  2. Perspective… any new mom could use this kind of help and reminder! They are adorable. Well done!

  3. Adorable!
I always hoped that we’d be blessed with twins but I have to say that with this last pregnancy I was kind of nervous at the first scan that they might see more than one bub!!!
    Gorgeous photos, Corrie.

  4. Gorgeous little ones you have & with a Newborn as well…Congratulations…
    cheers

  5. Beautiful children. Well done to survive the babyhood.

  6. Thank you thank you thank you thank you! Just what I needed this morning. Some days I think ‘when is this going to get easier?’. Most days I count my blessings, but some days I just need to know there is light at the end of the tunnel! Jen

  7. .. and your little ones are just gorgeous :)

  8. I’m one of five kids, no twins, but my best friends in primary school were twins. I was so jealous. I wanted a twin, too. I think my mother is glad there was only one of me, but they had such a special relationship. Love twinnie pics!!

  9. Just delightful, Corrie. Capturing the hand-holding on film was a genius moment. And those giggles are infectious! J x

  10. Its so hard isn’t it! And I think the newborn age was the hardest as you say. Not being able to comfort two properly was really hard. And the sleep or lack of it.

My boys are nine now and they are just so lovely together, its such a beautiful relationship.

  11. Precious..

  12. Everything you sid about twins is so true. Well done on getting this far and being sane and having such lovely kids!

  13. My sister in law has 2 sets of twins, 2 1/2 years apart. She knows twins. They are now all at school and they really all are lovely little people!

  14. So cute too.

  15. Such a sweet post — congrats to you on getting through the twin baby days! They are simply adorable.

  16. I completely agree how hard it is with twins in the early days. In my own experience one baby was a breeze in comparison. It still has it’s challenges for me when they are two but there is something nice about having a friend close by.

  17. So Cute!

  18. So true! They are just gorgeous. Give yourself a pat on the back and a personal happy dance – you’ve done good, girl!

  19. I have a four year old daughter and twin boys who are nearly three. It has been a hard three years. The hardest ever. Only in the last three month has life got easier….but boy are they fun now. There are now more good days then not and they are quite the littel comedians. Well done for surviving and especially now with you new daughter.

  20. Gorgeous my sister in law is having twins! She found out today she is having a boy and a girl! xox

  21. love the twinner pictures – super cute and yes those early years are exhausting and I am so glad I survived them and are moving on to the next stages with my twinners. I love the giggles and joy they have together at an older age.

  22. Great photos Corrie – they ae so sweet and have got so far becuase they have a great Mum and Dad (oh and big sister too:)

  23. Lovely set of photos, I bet they are not always smiling, there are tears as well 😉 My brother and I are just 11 month apart and my mum says that it’s even harder than having twins.

  24. The photos and post bought a smile to my face. And who wouldn’t love them .. they look so sweet and cute.
    Rebecca

  25. bless ! they are too cute and you have done a wonderful job and continue to do so, from one twin mummy to another! xx

  26. My twins were easy – feed, play, sleep, feed, play, sleep. My single was my problem, she did have gastric reflux which did not help. But once that was sorted a very cuddly, loving child now adult ☺
Don’t know if it was easier because I had no experience of one or just that they were great ☺

  27. Glad to have found this article in your archives. My triplets are still babies. It’s good to know what’s ahead is going to be good.
