over for another year

Phew, ballet concerts are all over for another year and this is how we’re all feeling this morning ………..exhausted!
keira sleeps
one of the highlights for my big miss would have to be the makeup and wait for it……..mascara! Oh yes, being allowed to wear mascara is a big thrill when you’re 4 and the excitement almost eclipsed the excitement of dancing!

And if you’ve ever seen 3 and 4 year olds in a dance concert you’ll know how cute and funny they are performing. Tears were rolling down my face watching them and especially when keira had to stop to ‘scratch’ her nose.
being silly
oh and we were bluebirds this year! So now I can get my saturdays back and enjoy a break from rehearsals for another year!

Comments

  1. How cute and exciting for Keira. I love watching little ones perform.

  2. I can feel it, we are suffering up to 3 rehearsals a week at the moment. I still have another 2 weeks of it. I am excited about the concert/recital what ever they call it. paisley is exhausted also. They look so cute in their little tutus :-)

  3. gorgeous

  4. Your whole family are just TOO cute… Keira looks so cute in her costume too. My daughter is now 15 and she has been dancing since she was 4.. (The good thing about her age is that she now gets dress herself and puts on her own makeup).. I just sit and relax.

  5. She doesn’t look blue at all!

  6. Keira looks like she’s a born diva. Blue really suits her and I love the ‘model’ pose wearing the makeup – just a little smile :).

  7. We’re in the throws of ballet concert rehearsals at the moment plus we’re also juggling gymnastic carnivals … plural! But the end is in sight and the final product will be worth it … once I pay $29 a ticket, the $62 DVD, the photos and the balance of the costumes bill 😉

  8. Enjoy the break – Amelia is yet to want to do dancing – it will come though:) SHe is doing Gymnastics and that is keeping her busy:) How cute is she asleep:)
    Enjoy your Saturday’s

  9. What a gorgeous little blue-bird :)

  10. Oh how gorgeous is she in that beautiful blue dress. It really suits her that color! Wearing mascara, well I cant wear it at all since it irritates my eyes but I am sure when she is older she will stop liking it. My niece does dance and is now 12 and doesnt like makeup at all anymore because she has to wear so much of it for dancing! Hope you can now slow down a little and get some much needed rest.

  11. That bluebird pose is a real classic, one to pull out and enjoy again and again through the years to come!

  12. Lucky you! I have 7 costumes hanging in my dining room, with another one still on the way, and the concert still coming up. Three girls, 8 costumes…thank goodness the twins are boys, I don’t think I could handle any more dancing!!!

  13. We had concert rehearsal for James’ dance concert yesterday. I can’t wait til the big day. His first performance on stage!!!
Keira looks gorgeous in the blue outfit!

  14. Keira looks beautiful – I’m pleased that all enjoyed the concert :-) I can still remember all the excitment of my ballet concerts :-))
    Happy stitching, P

  15. Oh how exciting for her! And OH SO GROWNUP with the makeup.
But glad you get to have a break and spend some time chillin’.

  16. She looks just soooooo beautiful – Retrodaddy better by a shotgun to chase the boys away !

Your blog is amazing and I am in awe of all you manage to achieve WHILST being a busy mum of 4 – inspirational.

  17. Been there, done that. Pure cuteness.

  18. Oh super cute, that make up was tame to the last full face my eldest had to wear for a ballet concert. Blue birds, adorable, love Posie

  19. Adorable!

  20. Gee you get off lightly in the makeup department. My 4 year old gets to wear ‘happy’ eyebrows and lots of brown eyeshadow and mascara, blush and bright red lips. The 8 year old has to wear false eyelashes too!! Only a few weeks to go now until the concert and then we can all take a big rest!

  21. Gorgeous :)
I don’t get my Saturday morning back for about 3 weeks yet, am envious of you!
My Miss 5 is a jellyfish this year, and guess what? She’s looking forward to mascara too

  22. I love your new blog header – v. creative!!

The morning after photo in bed is so sweet. We are still awaiting our big concert day. I’m also looking fwd to the end of the constant rehearsals….

  23. Mascara is an important thing to know about. Glad she’s getting a proper education in girl-ness!
