new shoes

Well today was a new day! Everyone woke up happy including this mummy because she knew retro daddy was home for the day and then a gymboree order had arrived on her doorstep. We decided  to head up to Avalon for some lunch and to pick up some Salt Water sandals ……we were in desperate need of summer sandals for both girls. Is it wrong that I think miss keira also needs a few other colours in her wardrobe? I’m thinking silver next…….
keira's new sandals
I won’t mention the tantrum that went on when they didnt’ have miss tillie’s size. She was so after a pink pair too that even when I just wanted to work out her size she’d pull her feet away from the blue ones and refused to have them near her. So retro daddy took her down the street and I figure I now have an excuse to get keira another pair while I hunt down a pair for miss tillie.

  1. Oh darling, sounds like you need to stamp out this drama over missing out on things. Hmmm, i know, don’t let them have a single thing for like a year & see if they’ll appreciate getting any shoes in any colours!! If only it was that simple, hang in there. Those shoes will last a long time with all that room – open toe sandles are fantastic for that!!
Funnily enough, just packing for Sydney & my girls said “oh do you think Keira will like my new shoes” so we’ll just extend your shoe agony with more varieties!!
My boy also came running to your blog to say “oh, Keira, i’ll see her in Sydney” so he’s excited. Love Posie

  2. Cute! We are hoping to get a pair or two for this household. Can I ask how you found the sizing? I am planning on buying online…

  3. peta go up a size from their aussie size! so my little girl is a 6 and fit a 7 and my big girl is normally an 8 or 9 (big wide foot) and we got her a size 9! they are gorgeous

    Corrie:)

  4. Hmm, think you may have directed me to the perfect shoes for Layla this summer. Off to source a pink pair.

  5. I got mine a few weeks ago – we love our SWS’s!! This is our 2nd year in them and I even got myself a pair this time! We’ll be matchy-matchy lol.

  6. Hang on I just realised that you buy them here retail!

I buy mine from the US from http://www.meandmyfeet.com

Their FB page is here and has their latest specials and codes…
    http://www.facebook.com/pages/Me-and-My-Feet/286068080512?v=wall

Currently if you order by tonight US time and enter code sept20 you get 20% off which practically covers the postage.

I ordered 1 pair sz 10 girls and 1 sz 9 women’s for $77 AUD including postage using that code.

Plus the Aussie dollar is strong now! xx

  8. cute shoes. So sad when little ones know what they like but just don’t understand when something isn’t available in their size, hope you have some success finding a pair that your little one loves!

  9. isn’t it horrerbil when they don’t have your size

  10. ooh love a new pair of shoes

ps – corrie i sent you a msg through your shop as I’m interested in getting the charm pack (city weekend??) i think it is called. i just want to know how many repeated prints there are in the 42 pack.

Hope poor tillie is ok after missing out on pink shoes!!!

  11. I just ordered some from me and my feet and got a pair for my daughter and a pair for me for $73 inc p&p. They are so cute!

  12. Thank Liss – I just ordered a pair from my daughter from there too. I had be desperately trying to think of a way to make the most of the $$, and I don’t need more fabric, so there is the solution…..

  13. such cute little shoes on cute little feet. I have boys- all boys- Lucky for me they could care less what I lay out for them!

  14. They look like really good sandals! A pair in champagne and in yellow will see her through the season and in Australia the weather is so propice for wearing sandals…..here we only get 2 or3 months to wear them! I can relate with Tillie though when you want a pink sandal blue just wont do!

  15. oh honey- my mum bought my first pair of school shoes in avalon…..how was your day in the village shopping for sandals….
oh it makes me smile…you can’t put a gal in the colours she doesn’t want….

    love the sandals…very cool!

  16. wow. Liss. I have to jump in and say a huge thank you for posting your comment! I have been umming and ahhing about whether i wanted a pair for myself, and i managed to get my daughter and i a pair + postage for $5 more than an adult pair retails for here!
(i am all for supporting local businesses, but this deal is far too good to pass up. especially with the exchange rate!)
corrie – worth checking out for your pair for Tillie, and a second pair for Miss K.

  17. love the sandals, I must say I am a little addicted to these and have already bought my little miss a pair from the states. One pair is not enough, I’m thinking bright yellow and soft pink.

  18. Thanks so much for reminding me about these, I just ordered a pair for myself and a pair for miss 21 months, both in silver, from me and my feet. I was looking for nice sandals for my little one, after ordering silver birkenstocks for my 4 year old (from the UK). They don’t make birkis small enough for my littlest. We are all set for summer now!
