dresses, dresses and more dresses

Deciding to do Mathilda’s next month with a new bub is not something I would have done with my other babies. But we have sooooo many bolts of fabric here at casa retro that I decided I just had to go. Retro Daddy will be my helper for the day (can’t wait to see him in action at my very girly stall)  and I promised him I would be ready for the market before bub arrives (2 weeks, 2 days and counting). I have 40 dresses coming with me and just had to share some of my favourite fabric combinations so far.

I love this aqua print – it’s certainly a break from pink for me – and I loved that the binding fabric was already in my stash from last summer. A combination that was meant to be!

new for summer

And this Flower Sugar number is very pretty and shabby chic, it reminds me so much of Cath Kidston.

so cath kidston
and another Flower Sugar dress – I am loving this combination too, so summery and Keira’s favourite!
so pretty
And although I have 40 dresses, of course I still need to add retro mummy name labels, price tags and give them a final press….maybe next week.

  1. I’m not sure whether to congratulate you on being organised or think you are crazy for doing a market after the baby is born!! I have used Chris as a helper before he looks so out of place, but he is helpful.

  2. Those floral fabrics are gorgeous! Where are they from, your shop?

  3. You are SOOOOO courageous.
As my dad would say ‘She’s a trooper’!
Beautiful dresses. I’m jealous now that autumn has started here no more summer dresses for us……..not until next year!!

  4. You are astounding, Corrie. Just unbelievable organisation – bravo! I’d love to buy one of the blue Flower Sugar dresses in a size 3 – are you selling yet? They are so pretty and yes, so Cath Kidston-like. J x

  5. Oh i love all your dress fabric combo’s – especially the first – i have that fabric and love it too! It is so nice to make some ‘non pink items’ which i think people really love to see! And bravo to you for going with baby and all – only a retro mummy could do all that!!

  6. Hats off to you, Corrie! Stella effort!! Love the blue one best x

  7. wow, i’m impressed, will have to stop by Mathilda’s to say hello and see you how both are holding up!

  8. Oh the top one i can see with a cute swim suit poking out, the Flower Sugar, oh, sweetest range ever!! Love Posie

  13. Very cute dresses! Good luck, and get some rest!!!!!

  14. sooooo gorgeous, the last two are VERY Kath Kidston aren’t they, love them. You are such a brave incredible lady working so hard when you should be putting your feet up!

  15. OK. Stop now. I’m exhausted just reading about what you’ve got on your plate. I’m going for a lie down! (But the dresses are just gorgeous!)

  16. It’s amazing that with the more babies that come along and the rapidly decreasing time we have we manage to take on (and accomplish) more. Maybe the new baby will bring a rest with them, probably not though. Pretty dresses, if I wasn’t entering winter here I would be off to sew up a few dresses for my daughter, inspired by you, but alas, I’m crocheting a blanket instead.

  17. Very cute! Awww, I’m jealous that you have all of that gorgeous weather to look forward to! B x
