all partied out

phew, all the cooking and cleaning was worth it as we recover from Keira’s party today! I love a good old fashioned party and everything ran smoothly! The girls ate coconut ice, snow white slice (white chocolate, marshmallows and rice bubbles), little sandwiches (cream cheese + ham, egg + mayo), vegetable frittata, sausage rolls, grapes, white chocolate freckles (white chocolate and silver cachous) and drank lemonade with little cocktail umbrellas in their princess cups ( I couldn’t help myself).

setting up

here all the little girls sitting nicely waiting for the sausage rolls!

party girls

we played pass the parcel, musical statues and pin the tail on the donkey!

pass the parcel

and after games, we decorated cupcakes as our craft activity which was lots of fun…….

cupcake decorating

I can’t remember where I saw it on tv a while ago but for little girl’s its a winner!

birthday girl and her cupcakes

and then it was time for cake! The birthday cake turned out nicely – always a worry on the day! I went for a simple and pretty design from Donna Hay Kids magazine 2008.

the cake

I used her butter cake recipe and I must admit that in previous years I’ve used packet mix and spent more time on the decorating of the cake but there is no turning back now, butter cake all the way for birthdays from now on. So we’re all exhausted but had a lovely time!

  7. Its all so pink and pretty – she must have had a great day, now you deserve a rest!

  8. Oh arent they all gorgeous sitting waiting for their sausage rolls. The cake looks wonderful Corrie, and I am sure you will never use packet mix again after that. I should try that for Isabelle’s birthday. She had a cupcake party last year and the girls loved making them, although I had to vacuum afterwards because there was sprinkles from one of the house to the other! Keira looks so nice in purple too.

  9. Happy birthday Miss Keira.

Oh, how lovely, my guys looked at all the images with envy. We need to live in a compound honey, our husband are mates, our almost 8 collective children love each other, we’re like twins seperated from birth . . . we need to, Hampton’s style, & soon!! Love Posie

  21. Looks like the party went off beautifully – with one very happy (Cole and Imogen have their 4th this coming weekend, so this week is up to the eyeballs in bunting and baking and cleaning!)
