a pretty pillowcase

I had picked up this alphabet panel in SL a while ago and it was so cute, not good quality but cute! As you can see there is a nice big dirty mark on the fabric, something you often find there when things have been walked over, chucked around, etc. On the weekend I actually went to buy 2m of pink minky for girly blankets and there were some big dirty marks over the first metre so I said please cut after the marks, the lady kept saying are you sure? they MIGHT wash out, I could do you a discount if you want to take the chance! no lady I’m thinking, its dirty and has dark green gross bits all over it, cut me 2 clean metres!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, back to my panels. So I found an unopened cheap ruffle pillowcase in the cupboard that I had wanted to use for another project and set to work. This is so easy, takes you no time at all and the trickiest thing is staying neat around all of the letters when you do your stitching. I can’t wait to see keira’s face when she comes home tonight……because a girl can never have too many pillows on her little bed.

  1. Oh the pillowcase is so cute Corrie! I love the little birdy cushion on her bed too. Isabelle seems to have a few cushions now too but I might try and make her a pillowcase, so cute!

  2. Great idea Corrie, Keira will love it.

  3. So cute! I wish I could find alpha panels here int he states..

  4. Oh goodness gracious that IS gorgeous! Lucky little Keira with such a clever Mummy! xx

  5. That is lovely! She will squeal I’m sure. I’m hearing you about grotty SL fabric….that’s why we shop with you (one of the reasons) :)

  6. I totally hear you about dirty bolts or that first 50cm which is crushed & manky. Why do they think we’ll consider it acceptable?? Then there is the crooked cutting, OMG, drives me bonkers. Or you buy chiffon which is best ripped, but they insist on cutting . . . so you get something against the bias & all wrong for your sewing needs!! I just hate how they are so disinterested in what you are buying the fabric for!! Zero service or personality, oh, always an awful experience.
Love your cushion though, nice work, love Posie

  7. That is adorable Corrie! I also love the pillow next to it with the owl on the side. What a lucky girl! :)

  8. Love the name pillow. Very cute!

I agree about spotlight though. Argh they annoy me there. I’ve had dirty, ripped fabric too. So frustrating!!

  9. First visit to your blog. HI! What beautiful work! I have four children too. You’ll love it!

  10. Really beautiful. Oh and Keira is VERY close to my name.

  11. So pretty!

  12. Love the pillow. Great idea! And while I hear you about Spotlight – with bolts of fabric all over the floor etc …I’ve had some excellent service from crafty SL ladies in Sydney Rd Coburg … and the lovely man on the counter at SL Box Hill is the BEST!!

  13. VERY pretty Corrie! I’m sure Keira is going to love it!

  14. ohhh running thread I’m moving to your store!!!!!! we had 2 gorgeous ladies on the fabric counter and they left :( not good service where I go but I still go :)

  15. What a fab idea! I’d seen them in there too but was put off by the quality. Sooo much easier and quicker than doing to all yourself. Ohhh you could even use all of them and make alphabet bunting!!
lol! Posie is too funny! xox

  16. I saw those panels at Spotlight and wondered what they would be good for – thanks for the great idea!!! I am thinking birthday presents for some of my son’s kindy friends!!!

  17. the name pillow is a cute idea!

I am intruigued by the pillow next to it – with the birds and the gingham backing …. did you make it? what is the fabric in the front square?

It’s Aviary by Joel Dewberry and came out over 2 years ago. I probably have a bit left if you’re after some! I went a little nuts buying it
