weekend photoshoot

my parents popped over yesterday and my Dad is always snap happy especially when he has a new camera! First up was my mum’s latest crochet project..I must get her on ravelry..this gorgeous blanket kept her mind off things when she was in hospital recently.

and my quilt..which sadly won’t be quilted this weekend as I need more fabric for the back!!!! boo hoo I was so close with my pieces but need slightly longer fabric for the back as its a large quilt! I’ll see how I go today.

My Mum and I were talking about what I might like for my birthday next month (the big 3-4) but I really want a machine for quilting (juki 98P or janome 1600P), she said oh ok we’ll get that…um Mum they are over $1700…. so I’ll be getting a nice donation towards it!!! Now I just need to work on retro daddy!

  1. Love your mums crochet blanket, so beautifully made. Great quilt cannot wait to see the new one with the lovely fabrics. What kinda new fabric is coming in February….. itching to see. Happy Quilting

  2. Your Mum’s crochet is beautiful. Have you thought of doing a pieced section on the back of your quilt, that might make it stretch that little bit further. Its a good way of making backing out of narrow fabrics.

  3. Your mother’s crochet is beautiful as everyone said but that photo of Tillie is absolutely gorgeous!!

  4. hi Corrie, I bought a Janome 1600p about 9 months ago and I LOVE it, I got it for around $1200 through our local Janome store (Darwin). I have been enjoying your blog with all of your projects, thanks for sharing them.

  8. PS Kirsty mentioned her local Janome in Darwin – that is where i got my semi industrial machine in January sales, 4 years ago – excellent price!! They are really good there (Stuart Park NT) & the lady who served me had 5 children, she was so fabulous. Love Posie
