squares

Although I’ve been showing you lots of family photos lately, I have actually been doing some crafty things behind the scenes. First up is crazy mom quilts ‘flea market fancy’ quilt which I’m making up in nicey jane. I knew I couldn’t keep the fabric all nicely folded up for long…..and the colours are just gorgeous especially as pink and green is one of my favourite combinations! Here are the blocks I’ve done so far……

I have also been clearing out my craft room making space and it feels so good to clear out and make room (for new purchases!!!!!!!). I gathered together all my half used balls of yarn for a spot of crochet. When I don’t have the energy to sit and sew at my machine at night, crochet is the perfect ‘lie on the couch with your feet up night time activity’.

making a cushion

This is my output from one night on the couch…..miss keira calls them flowers and I’m going to turn these into a super cute and girly cushion for her bed! A little miss can never have too many cushions on her bed!

And thank you for all your lovely comments yesterday. Keira has bounced back as all little ones do.

  1. oh no, not another one! so sorry corrie!

so glad miss keira is back to herself, what a brave little girl, oh and lovin’ the nicey jane, really really nice!!

  2. Such pretty squares, both fabric and crochet. Love the colours you have together. Sorry to hear others inflicting their bad mood on to your blog.

  3. Looks gorgeous & pink & green is a gorgeous colour combination. Also love red & pale blue (in an attempt to pretend i’m Cath Kidston). Nicey Jane – isn’t that Heather Bailey amazing!!
Good on you for banning anonymous comments, really, why do people bother to take the time to be so mean, or i guess it must come naturally to them?? Look at all the support you got after she made her silly comment. Hello ‘accident’??
I know you won’t let it spoil your festive week so i won’t give it another thought either. As for me, well off to the dentist to make sure our daughter’s ‘accident’ is nice & clean. Don’t normally rush to the dentist when a baby tooth falls out, but this was a rather violent way to lose a front tooth, to a foot path!! I could post a blog of my 4 children’s ‘greatest hits’. Love Posie

  4. Just looooove Nicey Jane too – pink and green are just gorgeous!! Once again amazed at how many things you can get done!! It has taken me 2 days to get two baby sized quilts finished and I mean two full days of child neglect (TV) and popcorn for lunch (kids loved it)!!!

  5. Oh I’m loving that new quilt-in-progress!!! (and the cushion is going to be gorgeous!)

sorry you’re getting sad nasty wee people venting in your comments…

  6. Corrie some people are just nasty and they aren’t worth another second of your time . I love those squares and those colours are gorgeous !

  7. I am glad she is ok, poor you and her.
Lovely Nicey Jane – I have just washed some and am wondering what to do with it.

  8. Didn’t their mothers ever tell them to say nice things or don’t say anything at all. Seriously, do these people have nothing better to do?!

Poor little Kiera! What a story to tell though! And how brave she was!!

    Selina xx

  9. Lovin’ the greens and pinks!

  10. I can’t get my head around someone being mean to you. How ridiculous! For the zillion lovelies in blogland there has to be one twat!

On a brighter note, I LOVE the Nicey Jane fabric you’ve used. I think I feel another purchase coming on…..

    Happy sewing,
    Abbe

  11. Oh not another horrible comment – HUGS. Glad to hear that Keira is felling better.

Love the quilt and crochet. And the colours are devine.

And to answer your ? on my blog – the yarn is a Patons Bamboo/Cotton blend:)

  12. Love the Nicey Jane, and the crochet “flowers”, just adorable! Try not to listen to the negative comments… obviously some people have way to much free time, and not enough caring in their heart.

  13. I’m so glad to hear that Keira is feeling better after her little accident, poor little sweetie. I love the crochet squares, very pretty colours they will look great in a cushion.

Why do people say horrible things I’ll never know, I hope it doesn;t get you down.:)

  14. I’ve just order myself some Nicey Jane. I love your blocks! I’ve also been clearing out my work room…start the New Year afresh.

  15. i love the squares!!..is there a tutorial for it?..do not let those mean comments bother you!

  16. Hey Corrie, remember when you got a hard time for saying you were going to the mall shopping! Instead of shops or shopping centre or whatever! Now this! Some people are just bullies and I love reading your blog, I check it with all my favourites and there is something everyday to look at, you just don’t stop! I am slack cause I hardly ever comment but I am now when people are being mean to you!

  17. So sorry you are on the receiving end of nasty comments… kids get hurt no matter how hard we try to keep them safe…. I LOVE your blog…. and I love the crochet squares…. tutorial???? Pleeeeease 😉

  18. Hi Corrie,
Just wanted to say I was sorry to read that people had been leaving less than nice comments on your blog. I wanted to let you know that your blog is one of my favourites and even though I dont often leave a comment I love reading about your craft projects and beautiful family. Keep up the great work. Also glad to read that your little one is on the mend.
    Best wishes, Amy

  19. The designers are churning out gorgeous fabric lines faster than I can get my hands on them. I have to pick and choose but the nicey Jane looks so gorgeous in your quilt, I could be tempted. I love seeing the granny squares to match, just fabulous.
