happy with harmony

Now I must admit…when I first received the shade card for Harmony, I was less than impressed. Sometimes Bendigo just get the colours wrong (who is putting lemon and coral in these shade cards…seriously!) But then I went on Ravelry and everyone was going nuts for harmony……

so I decided to get 2 balls to try and I’m loving it! springy, light, easy to knit with and stretchy….I’m making a cute kimono cardigan for miss tillie who lives in little cardigans…. Finn also loves harmony, so much so that he pulled the ball down and got 1/4 of it into a total mess…..

so I had to go and order more harmony this morning (and at $10.50 for 200g you can’t go wrong!) And look at who got a little short back and sides at mummy’s salon…I didn’t think I had it in me but trying to get everyone to the hairdressers all on my own was beyond me so I got out the little scissors………et voila! Just a few more stray hairs to trim at another sitting and he’s done!

We had been going for a bit of a pete murray style hairdo with finn but people kept telling me what pretty girls I had so it was time for a little trim!

  1. I agree there’s some awful colours in that palette.
I just tried their 10 ply Luxury and it is just gorgeous.

  2. Love the cardigan. Was inspired to go have alook at the Bendigo wool site and there are some hideous colours that I can’t imagine anyone would ever use! But they have great prices so I might have to head over there and buy some 10 ply for a cardigan for me!

  3. Hope the hair cut works, people used to tell me what a pretty boy I had when my DD was dressed head to toe in PINK!

  4. oh finn is such a handsome little man! harmony’s great. they used to have stronger colours which was better, though i’m hoping that in isolation the blue, green and carnation will look nice for kid’s clothes. looking forward to seeing tillie’s new cardi!

  5. So cute! people keep telling me what a sweet little fellow Juliet is even though she’s wearing pink sandles and a red and ppink jacket. Sometimes I think they do it purpose to drive us mums mad!!

  6. Looks fabulous – love the kimono in production :) K

  7. nice work on the haircut!! good on you. I took Noah (3) yesterday for a cut – I knew it was time when he told me he had ‘girls hair’ :)

  8. Finn is very handsome :-) I haven’t tried Harmony yet, but the names are pretty retro.

  9. Love, love the new do!

  10. I have been wanting to give that harmony a go, so thanks for the positive write up. I guess I would be one of the odd ones who would order the coral colour…yes, I like it, kind of a flashback to the 80’s!
And you did a great job on the haircut. Anyone who can do a half decent job on a small child’s hair deserves a medal!

  11. How funny, i was looking at Harmony, it’s on my list!!
Love Finn’s new do, really butch, good on him, extra handsome!! I cheated the hair dresser until my son was about 3 & his sisters were all in preschool & school, so i could take him solo . . . we just used clippers in the garden. Not a difficult option & when your husband is in the Army sporting the same hair style, clippers are a little boy’s hair cut answer. He luckily had a beautiful shaped head!! Love Posie

  12. Sorry, has anyone noticed that this season’s colour for ladies is CORAL!! Yes, Naomi, flash back to the 80’s but that would be coral on a hideous oversized top or something. Mind you, Coral in Summer need not be made of wool, so yes Corrie, who would buy coral wool??!! Finally, what is wrong with lemon, i am always hounded for unisex products, lemon is a no brainer. Love Posie

  13. A little cardigan in that will be so sweet.
    Well done on the haircut!!

  14. Oh — that’s definitely a beautiful little boy! That color for the cardigan is beautiful — can’t wait to see it!

  15. The harmony is so nice to knit with. You look as though you have accomplished quite a bit already. Finn’s haircut does look great. I dont know how anyone could call him a little girl though, too handsome for that.

  16. Well, I don’t know how to knit, so I can only admire your beautiful yarns rather than comment intelligently on them, but I had to say, what a darling haircut for little Finn! I cut my son’s hair myself too, as I just couldn’t get it done to my satisfaction in the salon. Looks like you’ve done a great job, and I always think a haircut makes those sweet little chubby cheeks look even cuter. :)

  17. I wish I could get back into knitting. I made a hat last winter for one of my daughters, I bought some nice yarn for it, it ended up gigantic! I’m reall discouraged now and afraid of wasting my money on good yarn. Ugh. I hate failure!
