retro flowers

this is a lesson to all the ladies out there….be clear when you send your man to the shops for white flowers for a party….be very clear.

while you are thinking white lillies, roses, something fresh and inviting for the front entrance…..he is thinking white must have white can’t get anything else or phone a friend so I’ll get carnations……

oh dear they are just so 1983 aren’t they?

  1. Well you are the retro mummy- obviously he is a retro daddy- and he has obviously noticed that some of the very awful fashions of the 80’s are back!!

  2. At least there is no babies breath mixed in!

  3. A lesson learned…

  4. The eighties are “in” Corrie!!!

  5. I suppose technically they have white on them right? Men.

  6. What, no baby’s breath? He failed on that count then.

  7. MMMM better than coming home with nothing I guess. Besides carnation always remind you of grandparents :)

  8. I have a bit of a soft spot for carnations actually, they used to be my mum’s favourite (after red roses of course!) Good to see no baby’s breath though!

  9. I had an argument with my five year old at the fruit shop over flowers very much like those the other day. In the end we compromised over hot pink gerberas. But still….

  10. ha ha ha!!!!! I am having a flashback to the lemons scene in ‘The Breakup’.A lesson to us all who have boys-TEACH THEM THE IMPORTANT THINGS : )

What’s wrong with 1983 and what’s wrong with carnations. You should lay off retrodaddy, I would have done the same.

  12. simon, well yes you are a guy so retro daddy said thank you. Mind you I walked past the flowers at the same shop today and showed him all the ones I would have picked and he still went on about how nice the carnations were!

  14. I love carnations – they’re so 50s cool.
