recovered

Thank you for all of your lovely comments, Keira had a wonderful birthday and its only taken me a week to recover from her party! I’m still finding little barbie shoes and accessories around the house but at least there is plenty to keep my little miss occupied!

I did manage to squeeze in some knitting this week and hope the recipient likes it. Its another of the Debbie Bliss bolero’s made in Lincraft’s soft n cosy wool which is super soft and the palest of pinks. I’m now on to my 3rd bolero of the season, this time for miss keira using Bendigo’s Luxury which is just lovely…..if you’re yet to try it you won’t be disappointed and the colour range keeps everyone happy!

Now I better get ready for my Japanese Cooking Class which is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon…cooking, eating, talking and no children for 4 hours! woo hoo! I’ve never tackled tempura before but have always enjoyed it so am most looking forward to learning how to prepare it!

  1. Those boleros are so gorgeous! Lucky recipient! I just popped over to look at the wool. It’s certainly good value for money isn’t it? I am not much of a knitter/crocheter but do you think that would be nice to make a ripple blanket with? The usual wool I can buy here in NZ is quite coarse and ridged, or merino is about $12-15 for a 50g ball. So that Luxury wool at Bendigo seems like a good solution.

  2. I know what you mean about parties, it took me a while to recover from my daughter’s! That bolero is beautiful – I do love Debbie Bliss patterns, they’re so simple and unfussy! Such a lovely pink! I notice there are no arm seams – is it knitted all in one? Which book is this pattern from?

  3. Beautiful bolero.

I am having a giveaway at http://www.sewingwithtrudy.blogspot.com and my 8 year old daughter is as well at http://www.sewinwithtrudy.blogspot.com

  4. Oh it is so pretty, well done I bet your daughter loves it. How funny, I also thought about doing a Japanese cooking class but by the time I went to enrol it had already begun. Next term!

  5. Cute little shrug! You must be one fast knitter!!

  6. Hope that you are feeling ontop of things after the birthdya celebrations. Looking forward to hearing about the Japenese Cooking Class – sounds lovely.
