pleated skirt

I picked up this cord from Spotlight for about $15 a metre last week because it looked so european and not like I bought it from spotlight. This morning was raining and pouring so I pulled out my pattern mags and whipped this up….

The pattern is from Ottobre 4/2007 and took about an hour to make which keeps everyone in the house happy….I just need to press the pleats but I’m really happy with how it turned out EXCEPT I tried to follow their waistband instructions and really should have stuck to my own tried and true method.

but all in all a success…did my model stand still???? no, better luck next time!

  1. Beautiful skirt, I love the pleats. Thanks for all the inspiration. You have been “sew” productive! (Ha,Ha)

  2. Damnit! I was at Spotlight yesterday, and didn’t think to look at cord! Great find, and gorgeous skirt :)

  3. Great skirt Corrie

  4. I’m loving all the Keira shots. She’s so adorable.

  5. Lovely skirt.

I think you might be interested in TV Turnoff Week, even though I think it’s already the 20th where you are. Unplug Your Kids (www.unplugyourkids.com) has issued a blog challenge, which I’ve linked to on my blogs, too.

  6. I saw that today and almost bought it to make something for Kitty, except she has too many clothes already. I had the same thought, that it was lovely and ‘European’

  7. Isn’t it gorgeous? I brought the same fabric from spotlight and thought that it had a european look as well. It looks really cute as a skirt and I bet its super snuggly as well. I am going to make mine into a tunic top from the 6/08 Ottobre and should have it posted on my blog in a couple of weeks if all goes well.

  8. What a fantastic skirt with the cute pleats. Love the fabric too.

  9. I bought some of that one today! I agree – never ever follow the elastic waistband instructions in Oyyobre.
