ok last photos of the quilt I promise

Ok well the chance of me getting this ironed this week are pretty slim so lets just say I’ve gone for the rustic look….to recap the pattern is Candy Shop from the Material Obsession book (great book by the way for any level of quilter) and I’ve used a mixture of Amy Butler and some Farmers Market fabric for the quilt top..

and the backing fabric was a cute Japanese quilting cotton from Spotlight called Cherry Tree that worked perfectly and had been sitting there in the stash with nothing to do. And lastly the binding is Freshcut and I just love this fabric for binding as its so perfect!

Thank you for all your lovely comments on my quilt……I’m such a beginner but its so nice to hear you like it….I really recommend this quilt to a beginner because its so easy to follow!

  1. Corrie, this quilt really is gorgeous! I don’t know how you’ve squeezed in the time with your little ones. Very beautiful babies too, I must say.

  2. What a great quilt, beatiful fabrics and I love your hand quilting. Don’t iron it! That would be a sin, the batting would squash. I’ve been teaching quilting for almost 10 years and I’ve never ironed a completed quilt yet, the wrinkled look it what makes a quilt to homely and appealing. Trust me I sleep under quilts everynight. Now you are officialy addicted to quilts………….what is the plan for your next one??

  3. OMGoodness! I didn’t recognise the quilt from the Material Obsession book. I have that book!

Purchased it last year as I loved so many projects and also have been following their blog for ages.

I’m going to have to attempt this one and only hope that mine will turn out to be half as good as yours.

  4. Oh it’s beautiful, Corrie! Keira is going to love it!
