woohoo back online and back crafting

Yes I have broadband and I can show off some of my latest endeavours! First up is my third mug cosy…these are great, take a night to knit up and also mean no need for a coaster! The pattern is from Interweave knits christmas edition and I used seed/moss stitch instead of garter for this little number!

Next up are 2 bags…the birdie sling by Amy Butler which does require quite a bit of fabric with over 3 3/4 yards in total………it was so popular that now mother dearest wants one too but she’ll have to join the project queue.

I made her this little french number which was a quick n easy library bag and very appropriate as she’s a french teacher

and then there is the turtle neck hottie also for my dear mum, I felted the jumper first then cut around the hot water bottle and sewed up the sides…how easy is that!!! It was shown on Better Homes and Gardens without felting the jumper but trust me felting makes it so much warmer and cosier

and today we saw my fill in OB who told me is all well but no cooking, cleaning, walking, lifting etc as the babies could come anytime….we left the room and laughed because the day before we hosted a family brunch where I got into my baking, cleaned, pottered around and finished the day with a long walk in manly…..I always thought I was a compliant patient but I guess I’m slowing down in my own way. Yesterday I did discover the best ever blueberry muffin recipe and here it is

1 cup SR flour and 1/2 cup plain flour
1 cup caster sugar
5 Tbsp milk
2 eggs
140g butter melted
120g blueberries

Whisk eggs, milk and butter and gradually add to the combined flour and sugar mixture. Gently stir in the blueberries and pour into muffin cases. Bake in 180-190degree oven (or 200 if not fan forced) for 20 minutes or until cooked and golden on top! They are so moist and yummy!

4 weeks and counting

  4. Wow, you have been busy – you sound a bit like a pregnant super-woman!!! I LOVE that mug cosy. Such a great idea! And all your sewing creations are just lovely. I’m so impressed that you can still sit down at your machine and sew!!!! I can’t believe how quickly time has gone by, and now you could be having your babies any time! And in case you DO go in the near future, then I’d like to say “good luck, and all the best”. Looking forward to hearing about your two new little family members! Cheers, Bec.

  5. Welcome back – glad to hear everything is progressing smoothly for you. Love all your latest projects – the cup cosy is a great idea! Love the hot water bottle cover – must give that a try!

  6. Only a month to go. I have already knit one of the baby items, it only took me 3 days and I only need to seam it. The little girl item is halfway done too, so exciting. I also received your wonderful parcel today. Lots of nice fabric scraps for Isabelle and she claimed the baby bib for her doll. I will just finish the neck part and add a button to it. I love those bags you made, and the cup cozy looks so great. I might have to knit up one of those as a gift for my sister and mum I think.

  7. Not long now. Good to have you back in blog land!
