busy bee sunday smock

Well after a hearty potato and leek soup with damper all made by myself for lunch… I hit the sewing room as panic had set in…my little sister gets married in less than 2 weeks and miss keira has no new outfits for all the festivities in Sydney…..

so I set myself a target of 2 smocks in an afternoon using a vintage pattern (I’ll share tomorrow) and some cute fabrics from Spotlight.

and while keira was at grandma jill’s, I managed to whip them up…and we love them even if keira wasn’t in the mood for modelling and staying still

unlike yesterday when she was happy to model…….and test driving yesterday turned into trading in and buying a new car……not brand new but new to us and we’ll pick up the keys to our silver family mobile next week (the kia carnival for those people mover experts out there).

  1. Keira is going to look just gorgeous for her trip to Sydney! Will she attend the actual wedding and if so will you please give us a peek at what she will wear???
Nice to hear you bought yourself a car – no doubt you will need all that room.
I wish we bought cars so quickly. I have been after a new car for months and we’ve done a fair bit of tyre kicking, but haven’t actually bought anything yet. *sigh*

  2. They look lovely Corrie. I really like the small print, was that from spotlight?

I haven’t been in since they moved. How spoilt we were when it was at Dee Why. I must get up there for a look soon.

  3. Oh I LOVE those smocks-beautiful!!

I think I have that pink fabric… but haven’t used it yet.

Congrats on the car, now you just need to practice parking it!

  4. Yum, I love potato & leek soup and I love damper, and I also love those sweet little dresses!

  5. Oh wow you bought a car and made two smocks? In one weekend? Go you pregnant woman!

  6. Yum soup and a silver car! Sounds like a great weekend to me. I am having Carnival envy in a big way!
Loved your belly shot btw, pregnancy really suits you!

  7. Very cute smocks….just lovely!

  8. Ooh they look so adorable and the fabrics are cute too. I think Spotlight are getting in a better range of items lately and I see they have their buttons back too.

  9. The smocks look great – and I love the bee material – I made an outfit out of it last year for amelia – which I think that I forgot to blog – opps! have fun at the wedding and congrats on your new car

  10. The smocks look great. I love the bee fabric – really cute and cheery.

  11. Oh those smocks!!! Absolutely beautiful – can’t believe you whipped up two in an afternoon!!!

  12. The smocks are too cute!

  13. I saw that beautiful bee fabric in Spotlight a couple of weeks ago, and I nearly bought it, except that I have no idea what I’d do with it! It makes such a lovely dress.
