and more quick projects

When I’m given some keira free time I head straight to my sewing room for quick projects! This weekend I managed lots of quick projects including 2 matching bibs for my twinnies…that now look like they need a quick iron

and more appliques …I’ve been asked by a few of you where I get my tops and really I go anywhere, target, big w, best and less with the latter two being a bit hit and miss but the target underwear section being the best of the bunch. Just don’t go to target southland and clear them out as thats my turf. Oh and I do all my appliques on my machine with blanket stitch (which I saw this lovely lady do).

Keira is also obsessed with strawberries this week so I whipped up some pj’s for her yesterday…in stretch knit too which is a territory I rarely enter….here they are drying off after she wore some strawberries last night.

and lastly I managed to knit this little beanie last night while watching big love. Its another umbilical cord hat but I’m breaking out the boy colours from my stash and getting stuck in….retro daddy asked why I didn’t embroider banjo on the front as we have an ongoing argument about boys names and banjo is not on my list…but I have to admire his perseverence.

oh and how great is australian womens weekly this month! My sister who works in advertising has long been telling me I’ve been in the wrong demographic for this magazine since my 20’s but when I opened this month and saw patterns for sock and glove monkey’s I went nuts!!! So don’t miss out!

  1. Goodness you have had a productive weekend! Love the monkey fabric you used on the bibs.

  2. you have done so well getting all of that done. your bibs are beautiful and so is everything else you have done. Thanks for the tip about the womens weekly – I will now be right on to it.

  3. More gorgeousness Corrie :)

You are such a bad influence on me! I bought a Snap machine!!!! Plus 400 hundred snaps!!!!!

And I went to Target (don’t worry – in Queanbeyan NSW so you’re safe) and bought some onesies to applique for my little blue bundle.

Banjo is really cute…maybe better for a dog though. Unless your DH is a famous actor or musician :)

  4. Ooh the onesies are so cute. I really love the strawberry pj’s too. The hat looks sweet and I will have to pop on out to the newsagents now and get a copy of that mag.

  5. I’ve never bought the Austrlaian Womens Weekly. I might have to go to mums and steal her copy. Do you vliesofix your appliques and leave the edges to fray or do you turn them under?

  6. Corrie well doone on tackling stretch fabric. It really scares me

  7. oh my goodness, just look at all that gorgeousness !
    Lucky twinnies !!

Funny about Southland. There’s so many bloggers in the area you should guard your patch a little more carefully :p

  8. Banjo LOL! YOu should sing that song to hubby “..had a dog, and banjo was his name-o” !!! Love those sockmonkeys!!!

  9. Can’t believe how busy you have been. Everything looks so good. Love the pj’s. The little onesie’s are so cute!

  10. I love the umbilical hat! Very cute appliques – I need to got to target tomorrow and have a go.

  11. still handing onto the banjo thing? give him points for that!
    love the popper suits!

  12. I am going to buy it now- thanks for the tip!!

PS Have you been to Target at Malvern Central…?

  13. Just stumbled across your blog and wanted to say your stuff is darling!

  14. I have the book for those sock and glove monkey. It’s in Japanese, but the diagrams looks clear enough for me to follow.
