crazy cabin cushion

well this is my first ever patchworking project….I call it the crazy log cabin cushion for a crazy little 1 year old….it still needs to be finished off but its taken 2 nights just to get to this stage and I’m pretty proud……it was fun and I can see why people like to quilt BUT this was just a cushion and I’m not ready for any larger projects just yet.

I’ve also been doing a little bit of fabric shopping….hubby absolutely hated these fabrics I picked up todayfrom ikea…I have 7m all up so I hope it grows on him…I figure since we’ve been in our house for over a year now I better get some decorating done….

This is also some lovely joel dewberry all for myself

and some nigella the latest Amy Butler range…I got a sneak peek at her 2 books coming out later this year and I’m also itching to get some more of this fabric for the shop because it looks and feels fabulous.

oh and here is my little walking machine….miss keira with her morning hair finishing off breakfast on the go…..she is now insisting to walk everywhere and we have mini meltdown when she doesn’t get her own way…

  1. I like all those materials, I saw the one with the balls featured on Better Homes and Gardens recently. Cant wait to see what you do with it.

  2. Great fabric choices…of course!
And little Keira is growing up…..I remember those meltdowns all too well. Which is why I don’t think we used our Bugaboo much past 14 months…..sigh. Oh well, James is now at the stage where he won’t run off too much, and he likes to hold my hand! Good luck.

  3. Keira is still cute even with morning hair! Those fabrics look so nice and I love that crazy cabin cushion you’ve made, looks great for a first attempt!

  4. The cushions looks great, I sure keira will love picking out the bears and birds etc. Now that she’s starting to get all those words out. Good to see that she has gone beyond those couple of steps. She will have you more on your toes now and you thought she was busy before! At least there will be no more dirty knees!

  5. Love the fabrics, all gorgeous. I really must visit Ikea and buy some fabrics from there. Congrats on Keira walking, there will be no stopping her now.

  6. Aww, that’s so cute that she’s walking everywhere now. Our bub’s little miss stubborn and just wants to crawl. Love the fabrics…are you going to start stocking the AB Nigella fabric?

  7. The cushion looks great, Corrie! Love all those cute fabrics. And Keira must be so happy she can walk!

  8. I’ve never tried a log cabin before, but seeing how beautifully the fabrics are coming together on yours, I might just give one a go!

  9. Love all of this post.
The cushion fabrics are great for a little 1 year old. Glad to see she is normal with her mini meltdowns. More to come soon i’m sure.
    Love all your fabrics too.

  10. I love the cushion! I didnt know Ikea sold fabric? Like I really need more fabric…lol
